Position Summary

Axis Group International is looking for multiple Sourcing, Procurement and Contracts Engineers. We are looking for candidates with 3-15 years of solid experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Contracting and Contract management. Prior experience in mining sector, especially in procurement of heavy mining equipment will be highly valuable. Also experience in global sourcing and working with multicultural team will be an advantage.

The selected candidates will be working remotely with occasional travel to supplier sites (various) and client site in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The ideal candidate for this position is a sourcing & contract specialist with experience in global mining operations. The candidate will be expected to source and contract regional and BU contracts in a commoditized and centrally managed manner, to ensure security of supply and optimise supplier performance and value in the allocated portfolio. The candidate will also identify ways to support specific safety, health & sustainability opportunities and risks and include these in enquiries and contractual documentation relating to allocated portfolio.  The candidate must incorporate Contractor Performance Management requirements in contracts to ensure that suppliers meet delivery expectations in a way that reduces safety related incidents. The candidate must also identify value creation opportunities that will deliver safety and social performance requirements for contracting with responsible suppliers.

Delivery & Performance

  • Implement a relevant Supply Chain strategy and ensure that critical tasks, performance targets, plans and budgets are adhered to with consideration of risk identification, mitigation, Sourcing & Contracts
  • Embrace an agile Supply Chain by being adaptive and flexible to accommodate and focus on emerging and changing business priorities Commercial Value Delivery & Supplier Partnering
  • Understand regional strategic priorities and develop relevant Sourcing & Contracting strategies to support business needs. Implement value creation and supplier engagement strategies that align to the overall global Supply Chain strategy, critical tasks, performance targets and Business Unit priorities. Manage relationships with strategic suppliers, to drive change in value and deliver innovative solutions that position the organization as a partner of choice
  • Optimize value through innovation and growth throughout the relationship life cycle
  • Deliver planning and scheduling for regional, BU & corporate routine and tactical activities sourcing and contract activities
  • Identify, enable & track value and inclusive procurement opportunities, commercial initiatives, and specific resource requirements. Track and monitor progress tracking against sourcing & contracts targets.
  • Identify, enable, and track opportunities
  • Provide proactive visibility and continuous improvement of sourcing and contracts pipeline related to allocated portfolio
  • Ensure cross collaboration between internal and external stakeholders Commercial Agreements
  • Implement the sourcing Value Delivery Plans for tactical and routine corporate/regional/BU contracts in an allocated portfolio in an accurate, timely and value driven manner
  • Ensure cross collaboration between internal and external stakeholders
  • Understand community specific needs and identify value creation opportunities to address these. Drive a culture of community development and inclusive procurement with stakeholders that are aligned to the global and regional Inclusive Procurement strategies
  • Support the global Inclusive Procurement team to identify supplier development needs and opportunities and support the development of solutions Sustainability & Social. Develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and new partners within the supply market

Operational Excellence

  • Investigate digitization opportunities with suppliers, develop compelling business cases and collaborate with stakeholders for potential implementation
  • Embrace a Supply Chain team culture of diversity and inclusiveness
  • Support team’s adherence to planned timeframes on contracts and/or modifications of sourcing activities
  • Support cross functional team interactions with internal stakeholders to execute category management activities Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance to Supply Chain Governance requirements, and applicable legislative requirements pertaining to all Sourcing and Contracting Activities. Regular, timeous, and accurate reporting pertaining to all portfolio activities

Qualifications

  • B E or B. Tech Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Mining, Metallurgy or similar field
  • Additional qualification / certification in Commercial Contracting, Contract Management, Sourcing, Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain and other relevant areas will be valuable

Experience

  • 3-15 years of solid experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Contracting and Contract management
  • Must have end to end sourcing and procurement management experience, including expediting, QA/QC, logistics and custom processes
  • Must have fair understanding of contract document, contract terms and contract management
  • Prior experience in heavy engineering, manufacturing, metal and mining sector, especially in procurement of heavy mining equipment will be highly valuable
  • Experience in global sourcing and working with multicultural team will be appreciated
  • Candidates worked in shared service, procurement back office, central procurement kind of environment will have an edge
